Gian Marco Ciampa was born in Rome in 1990. After studying with high-calibre teachers

such as Bruno Battisti d’Amario, Fabrizio Verile, Fernando Lepri and Celestino Dionisi,

he graduated with top marks, distinction and Special Mention with M° Arturo Tallini from “Santa Cecilia” Conservatoire in Rome.


Since he was a child he has taken part in and won several music competitions all over the world: “Tokyo International Guitar Competition”[Japan], “Melbourne International Guitar Competiton”[Australia], “Coria Guitar Competition” [Spain], “Budapest International Guitar Competition” [Hungary],"Omis International Guitar Competition"[Croazia], ,”Michele Pittaluga International Guitar Competition”, International Competition “Fernando Sor”[Italy], “European Classical Guitar Competition Enrico Mercatali" (Italy) “International Competition “Niccolò Paganini” (Italy).


In 2016-2018, Gian Marco performed on Tour for more than 100 concerts in Australia, Japon, Argentina, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, France and Italy.


Especially the Australian Tour has been more than 10 events including concerts and masterclasses that saw the young Roman guitarist performing and giving Masterclass in prestigious avenues like the Glebe Sydney Festival, the Melbourne Conservatorium, Knox Hall of Gosford and Brisbane International Guitar Festival.


In May 2015 he left for China with #CiampaBeijingTour that sees him perform with great success in concert and hold Masterclass at the "Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing," the prestigious "Academy of Opera" of Peking University and the beautiful Auditorium of 'Italian Cultural Institute of the Italian Embassy.


During the summer of 2014 he won a scholarship to attend the prestigious "New York Mannes College" and is engaged in a series of concerts in the USA that led him to performeven for the famous NEW YORK CLASSICAL GUITAR SOCIETY at the Manhattan Theatre in New York.


In the same year he won the third prize in the prestigious "International Competition Michele Pittaluga" and Scientific Committee of the same competition awarded him the prestigious "Golden Guitar" as best young talent.


Since he was very young Gian Marco has played concerts at important venues and festivals all over the world: at the Manhattan Theatre of New York for the “New York City Classical Guitar Society”, at Beijing Auditorium(China), East Hall of Sydney (Australia) at the Omis International Guitar Festival(Croatia), at the “Sala Sinopoli” of the Auditorium Parco della Musica and the Sala Accademica of the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatoire in Rome, at the San Giacomo Festival (Bologna), at the “Casa della Musica” (Parma), at the Chitarrissima Guitar Festival(Torino), at the Teatro Manzoni (Pistoia), at the Accademia Chigiana (Siena).


Several important Italian newspapers and magazines (La Repubblica, La Nazione, Il Tempo, Il Corriere Della Sera, Dotguitar, Le Cool etc.) have featured articles and interviews about Gian Marco and his talent.


In 2006 he was chosen – out of thousands of applicants – as one of two young guitarists  who were invited to perform live on the Italian TV show “Domenica In - Ieri, oggi e domani” (Rai 1), hosted by famous Italian TV presenter Pippo Baudo under the musical direction of Maestro Pippo Caruso.


In 2011 he was selected to take part in the guitar course held by Maestro Oscar Ghiglia at the prestigious Accademia Chigiana in Siena, where he graduated with merit as well as receiving a scholarship as one of the best students.


His performance in front of the highest Italian political authorities at the Quirinale Palace in Rome on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day (27 January 2013) was broadcast live on Italian national television (Rai 3).


Besides classical guitar, Gian Marco has always played the electric guitar as well. As an electric guitarist he has performed, among others, at the Acoustic International Guitar Festival in Sarzana, Circolo degli artisti, Stazione Birra, Big Mama, Le Scimmie, as well as in recording studios with both his own band (the Libra) and as a session player with other bands, ranging from rock to jazz music, from pop to electronic music.


He has been regularly taking part in master classes both in Italy and abroad (Germany, France, U.S.A.) held by world-class guitarists (Carlo Marchione, Judicael Perroy, Bruno Battisti d’Amario, Aniello Desiderio, Marcin Dylla, Nuccio d’Angelo, Fabio Zanon).


In 2013 is the founder and creator of the "SUPERNOVA", an ensemble of guitars  consisting of 8 young Italian guitarists winners of international competitions.


Since 2015, Gian Marco attends “Segovia Guitar Academy” in Pordenone with Maestros Paolo Pegoraro and Adriano Del Sal.
